The First United Nations Environment Assembly

The 2012 Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development agreed to strengthen UNEP as the leading global environmental authority. UNEA has been designed to take the world into a place where 7 billion people can live with dignity and harmony.

Mandated to determine policy and catalyse international action, UNEA represents the world’s policy forum and the new global environmental authority.

This issue of Our Planet explores the exciting issues raised by this historic event with articles from many of the world’s great movers and shakers.
